Data Usage Policy

We designed BuildMate so that the sensitive information you enter stays on your device. The table below summarises the few data categories the Service interacts with.

1. Data Stored Locally

The Service stores the following information only in your browser:

• Project dimensions, material quantities, and costs.
• Custom unit prices and waste allowances.
• Calculator preferences such as selected materials.

None of this data is transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser storage removes it permanently.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

BuildMate does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment information, or project documents. We intentionally avoid storing personal or project-specific files.

3. Analytics

We use Google Analytics for high-level insight. The data is anonymous and includes page views, device type, approximate region, and session duration. It helps us prioritise improvements and monitor stability.

4. Data Retention

• Local storage remains until you clear your browser cache or manually remove it from the Settings panel.
• Google Analytics retains aggregated data according to Google's default retention period.

5. Security

All network traffic to BuildMate is encrypted with HTTPS. Because calculations remain local, there is no central database containing your project information.

6. Your Controls

• Disable analytics with browser privacy tools or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
• Clear BuildMate data via your browser's site settings if you want to wipe stored calculations.
